The 2.0 waitlist
If you join the list on this page we keep two things: your email address and the date you joined. We do not record your IP address or browser.
We use your email for one purpose: to tell you when TripCompanion 2.0 is ready. It is stored on our own server, never sold, and never shared for anyone else’s marketing. You joined by choice, which is our legal basis for keeping it; email us and we’ll remove you, and every email we send will tell you how to leave.
The TripCompanion app
Version 1 of the app is paused until the 2.0 update. While it ran, it used these services, and the accounts it created are still stored with them:
- Your account — your name, email, username and profile photo, and the trips you saved, are stored with Google Firebase (authentication, database and file storage).
- Trip suggestions — what you typed when you described a trip was sent to OpenAI to generate destination and place suggestions.
- Places, hotels and activities — place details and photos came from Google Places, Foursquare, Booking.com, Tripadvisor and Viator. Booking links took you to those providers’ own websites, under their own privacy policies.
- Maps and weather — Mapbox drew maps and AccuWeather supplied forecasts.
- Keeping the app healthy — Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics and Performance Monitoring collected usage, crash and performance data; Firebase Cloud Messaging delivered notifications if you allowed them.
You can have your account and its data deleted at any time: see Delete your account.
